The Para-Ski World Championship in Maribor in Sloven brought another remarkable success for the Lower Austrian Veronika Aigner. The impressive athlete secured the gold medal in the giant slalom and prevailed with a lead of almost four seconds ahead of Italian Chiara Mazzel. Governor Johanna Mikl-Leitner congratulated this "sensational performance" and recognized the special challenges through the difficult piste conditions that Aigner mastered together with her guide and sister Elisabeth. This sporting achievement follows a personal meeting between Aigner and the governor at the Ski World Cup at Semmering, where Mikl-Leitner wished her good luck for the upcoming World Cup, as on OTS reported.
