40 years of Langenloiser autumn: celebrate culture in colorful variety!

The Langenloiser Autumn is an integral part of cultural life in Langenlois and celebrates its 40th anniversary this year. The city, known for its wine -growing art and a special atmosphere, offers visitors numerous events in the period around autumn. There is something for every taste from Weintaufen to film screenings to concerts and cabaret performances. In this anniversary year, the city will present itself in all its colorful facets.

The opening ceremony for the 40th Langenloiser Autumn will take place on Thursday, November 7, 2024, at 7 p.m. in the Ursinhaus. Admission is free and the event includes a vernissage with works by the local artist Jürgen Wagner. On the occasion of its 60th birthday, this presents a selection of his over 25-year artistic work, which deals intensively with topics such as digitality and optical phenomena. The exhibition can be seen until January 14, 2025 and offers an exciting insight into the contemporary art scene of the surrounding area.

Weintry Langenlois 2024

Another highlight of the Langenloiser autumn is the wine baptism, which takes place on Saturday, November 9, 2024, at 6 p.m. The entrance fee of 35 euros includes a champagne reception, the baptism of the new wine, small delicacies and a wine tasting. The godparents this year are the Loisium founders, Tuula and Gerhard Nidetzky. Pastor Mag. Jacek Zelek will lead the blessing in the underground basilica, while Robert Herbst leads through the event as a moderator. Those present can look forward to small culinary surprises from the Loisium kitchen and can enjoy the first samples of the new year.

During the entire festival, a varied program runs through the city. There will be several film screenings in the arcade hall on Tuesday 12, 19 and 26 November. Among other things, “The Old Oak”, a moving drama film, as well as the impressive documentation about Joan Baez and the heart -warming French comedy “The simple things” are shown.

Another cultural highlight will take place on Friday, November 15th when the Austropop cabaret "Retrieval Freech +" is listed. The story is about two lonely souls who try in the world of online dating and meet in a humorous and touching way. On Saturday, November 16, the trio "Zur Wachauer" will ensure a special musical performance with a modern interpretation of folk music and devote its program to the legendary Hank Williams.

An exciting lecture will take place on Friday, November 22nd, when the journalist Othmar Pruckner presents his book "Danube back". He takes the audience on a visual journey along the Danube and ensures an unforgettable experience with impressive pictures and musical interludes.

Another highlight is the rocknight on Saturday, November 23, at which the youth band "Almost Famous" will conquer the stage. The event promises to become a great event for music lovers and young talents.
