The ITN Open tournament at UTK Sparkasse Langenzersdorf once again attracted tennis lovers from Vienna and Lower Austria. Over 50 participants took part, and the competition was also the final event of the 6th Danube Cup. The players received attractive prizes, including tickets for the coveted Erste Bank Open.

As usual, the games took place at the tennis facility in Langenzersdorf, and the hosts were able to prevail in various categories. Particularly worth mentioning was the performance of Bernhard Kraus, who clearly won the men's final with ITN points 6.00-10.00 against Daniel Lastro from UTC St. Andrä Wördern. In doing so, he not only secured the tournament victory, but also the overall victory in the Danube Cup in this category.

Successes of the local heroes

The local hero Mateusz Madany also prevailed and won the men's ITN 8.00 - 10.00 competition against Leopold Schätz from Stockerau. Bernd Allmer played an exciting game in the men's 45 competition, where he had to admit defeat to the strong player Christoph Hochenbichler from Gars.

The men's doubles final was particularly impressive, in which the team of Bernd Allmer and Harald Reiter won against Sebastian Kotvojs and Andreas Jank. It was an exciting match that was decided in the decisive match tie-break.

A special achievement also went to Sebastian Kotvojs, who reached the men's ITN 4.00 - 10.00 final, but lost to Vienna's Franz Csebits. Nevertheless, Kotvojs was able to win the overall ranking of the Danube Cup. In the women's category, Jana Lutz had to admit defeat to Viennese Natalia Belova in the exciting final of the women's ITN 7.50 - 10.00.

The organizers of the tournament, Martin Angerer, Erich Gstaltner and Ingrid Zidek, are optimistic about the future. They plan to hold the tournament again next year in September and hope to attract even more participants to the 7th Danube Cup.
