HLW Hollabrunn sets signs of health and environment for students

The HLW Hollabrunn has recently made significant progress in the health promotion of its students by "drinking & recycling cleverly!" from Sipcan. The aim of this initiative program is to improve the drinking behavior of the students and at the same time strengthen environmental awareness. The avoidance of sugar -containing drinks plays a central role here, since these often lead to overweight in children and adolescents.

A lack of fluid intake not only has immediate effects on the concentration and memory of the students, but can also damage the cardiovascular system in the long term. In order to address this problem, the students of the HLW Hollabrunn have closely observed their drinking behavior over a period of two weeks. Regular drinking was considered crucial to promote both physical health and mental performance.

focus on recycling and environmental awareness

Another important focus of the project is the recycling of beverage bottles. In view of the upcoming introduction of pawns in Austria in 2025, it is very important that students learn how to properly deal with PET packaging. In this context, reference is made to the closed recycling cycle from PET2PET, which enables effectively recycle plastic waste.

The commitment of the HLW Hollabrunn as part of this project has now been awarded. The institution was honored as the winner of the "Drink & Recyceln! 2023/24" initiative by Sipcan, the initiative for a healthy life. Sipcan was founded in 2005 to support health promotion and prevention for all ages. The project was very well received and contributed to the positive development of the students.

By combining health education and environmental awareness, HLW Hollabrunn ensures that the students are not only informed about the importance of fluid intake, but also learn how important it is to protect our environment through recycling.
