Guntersdorf celebrates the new passage through the town: Modern design for more quality of life
In Guntersdorf, an important infrastructure project was successfully completed, which not only improves the traffic situation, but also enhances the townscape. The completion of the passage through the town and the adjacent church square is an important step for the place and is viewed by many as a profit for the quality of life.
The construction work included the southern section of the B 303 and cost a total of around 815,000 euros, with both the state of Lower Austria and the municipality bore part of the costs. The road was renewed to a width of 6.5 meters and got a new surface. Complemented by a 3 meter wide, combined walking and bike path, which makes traffic safer, new sidewalks and storage areas for pedestrians and parked vehicles were also created.

On November 18, 2024, a ceremonial opening of the new passage through the town took place. Well -known politicians, such as the state parliament members Michael Sommer and Richard Hofl, and Mayor Roland Weber took part in this ceremony. The projective details include a total length of 565 meters and a road width of 6.5 meters. The newly created walking cycle route covers an area of 1,200 m², while the sidewalks take a total of 700 m². In addition, additional storage areas have been created for vehicles that use an area of 400 m². The construction period was six months and the work was carried out by the Hollabrunn road maintenance department in cooperation with regional construction companies.
The project not only led to a modernized transport network, but also contributed to a harmonious design of the townscape. The new green areas and tree plantings symbolically stand for environmentally conscious development that will benefit future generations. At a subsequent festival, the citizens celebrated the successful redesign that Guntersdorf now gives a new quality of life.
