Ceremonial opening: New renovated kindergarten in Retz is ready!

In Retz, a new kindergarten and a day care facility were recently inaugurated. At this event, State Councilor Christiane Teschl-Hofmeister handed over the newly renovated building on Rupert-Rockenbauer Platz to the municipality. This initiative is part of the Lower Austrian children's education and care offensive, which uncovered the need for three additional kindergarten groups in the region. This resulted in the decision to renovate and redesign the former school building.

The new facility is a significant step towards promoting early childhood education and support. "With the opening of this facility, we are making a strong sign of early childhood support and education in this region. Thanks to the community and everyone involved for the great work," emphasized Tesch-Hofmeister during their speech.

The former school building was extensively renovated. There are now space for two kindergarten groups on the upper floor, while another group and the new day care facility are housed on the ground floor. This facility was laid here by its previous location in the rectory. A movement space was created between the group rooms, which offers small users a wide range of opportunities for physical activity.

The renovation work carried out includes in addition to the creation of new group rooms, the renovation of the sanitary facilities. A barrier -free toilet was set up on the ground floor to ensure that all children can use the room. In addition, the facade of the building and the top floor ceiling were thermally renovated, and the windows and inputs were replaced to increase the energetic standard. These comprehensive construction work was supported by the Lower Austria school and kindergarten funds.

With the opening of the kindergarten and day care, a total of three kindergarten groups and an additional care facility are now available. This complements the existing eight kindergarten groups at four locations within Retz in order to meet the increasing requirements and needs of families.
