Singing along and community: Bärbel Schmid inspires in the Ostalbkreis
Bärbel Schmid, a passionate musician from the Ostalbkreis, has made a name for herself by bringing people together with her music. Her musical journey started in childhood when she played harmonica in kindergarten and later discovered the recorder as a student. At the age of eleven, she received her first guitar, which she stole from her sister. While she did not take any formal guitar lessons, she learned the art of playing autodidactically. "I taught myself everything myself," she says, while looking back on the past few years.
In the course of her youth, Bärbel was active in various bands, initially as a guitarist, then increasingly also as a singer. She bought her first electric guitar at the age of 17 and began to write her own songs. She led this passion into the band "Fröhn", which soon caused a sensation and gave many concerts. "We played a lot of appearances, that was an exciting time," she recalls. The tireless use of Schmid for the music carried them through many genres, from hard rock to German heavy metal.
Singing together creates bond
With the time when she became a mother, Schmid had to take a break from the band music. But she didn't want to give up the music, and so she came up with the idea of combining music with her passion for pedagogy. After a long span of 30 years in band music, she decided to start self-employed and work as a musical coach. "I developed my own method to motivate people to sing," she explains enthusiastically and can't wait to share the joy of singing with you.
six years after her step into self-employment Schmid now leads the sing-along choir "Haste tones? Had to sing!", Which has quickly become her trademark. Every time you in the Schwäbisch Gmünder a.l.s.o. Appearance, 70 to 100 people flock to sing together with her. The entry of only five euros has remained the same since the beginning, which Schmid is important: "I think there must be affordable cultural offers even in times like this."
From music to the book
More than 300 songs has Schmid in his repertoire and brings a colorful mix of pop songs, campfire songs and classics. During the sing-along evenings, guests can choose their favorite songs and even vote for their favorites with stickers. "I want people to sing with me and have fun with me," says Schmid, while with a smile she projects the lyrics onto a canvas to encourage fewer text -resistant guests to sing along.
In addition to her appearances as part of the sing-along choir, she also sings at birthday parties and other festivals and even offers outdoor singing in nature. "I have about 90 appearances a year," she reports proudly. Her programs for children are particularly lovingly designed and often supported by their speech doll "Lotti", which brings a lot of joy during the performances and encourages the children to participate. "The songs are well received and create a great connection to the children," she explains.
In the Corona era, Schmid also published a children's song book, together with her cousin, which took over the illustrations. Her conviction: "Music is an emotion solder", she firmly closed her heart. Therefore, she regularly visits the dementia department of the Melanchthonhaus and sings with the residents, which often leads to touching reactions. "It can be seen touching how certain songs can arouse emotions and memories," she says.
despite many successes, Schmid does not think about quitting. "Music will accompany me all my life," she ponderes, while her charming charisma brightly illuminates every room. Your goal is clear: to share the joy of music and bring people together about singing. You can find more about Bärbel Schmid and her journey as a musician in a detailed report at www.remszeitung.de .
