50 years of the Fasnet: a festival of colors and enthusiasm!

On January 11, 2025, the Gmünder Fasnet and their participants celebrated an important anniversary: the 50th anniversary. The event took place in the Friedensturnhalle in Schwäbisch Gmünd and attracted numerous guests. 20 Garden from Schwäbisch Gmünd, Waldstetten, Grabbenhausen, Weiler, Wasseralfingen, Untergröningen and Leinzell showed their skills and delighted the audience with dancing performances and impressive costumes.

The hall was jam -packed and the audience was enthusiastic about the performances. The President of Gmünder Fasnet, Eberhard Kucher, expressed a positive statement about the event and emphasized the community and the cohesion of the over 200-member carnival troop. "There is no competition here, just enjoying tradition," emphasized Kucher. One of the highlights was the presentation of the mascot Guardeddy through the Gmünder Stöpselgarde, which performed with twelve dancers between the ages of 6 and 8

Another highlight was the appearance of the youngest dancer "Glitzerla", who made her debut with a newly rehearsed dance at only 4 to 5 years. Many of the talented dancers have had long training; For example, Alia, 14 years old, already had ten years of experience. In addition to the performances, visitors were also able to enjoy Guggenmusik of the Waldstetter Lachabatscher and enjoy a diverse catering offer from fries to waffles.

The hall opening took place at 10:45 a.m., followed by the official start of the celebrations at 11:11 a.m. Admission to the event was free.
