Invested in a strong photovoltaic infrastructure
In every speech, a large scale is being worked on on the modernization of the power grid infrastructure. In order to meet the steadily growing demand for photovoltaic systems, the EVN subsidiary Netz NÖ has built three new transformers. Accompanying this, the water pipe in the region was also renovated. Mayor Alfred Kridlo emphasizes that the strengthening of the power grid is essential for the expansion of renewable energies. In the region, those responsible have a strong increase in the installation of solar systems, and the new transformer stations creates the necessary capacity to support these developments.
Ronald Brechelmacher, Head of the Service Center Mistelbach, further explains: "In order to meet the constantly increasing requirements through renewable energies such as photovoltaic systems, heat pumps and e-charging stations, we rely on new and innovative medium and low-voltage cable and build further transformers."
energy goals by 2030
The national climate and energy strategy in Austria stipulates that the energy generation from photovoltaics should achieve tenfold and from wind power by 2030. This represents a challenging but necessary task for the NÖ network, which must implement comprehensive modernization and expansion of the power grid in a relatively short time.
The modernization program by 2030 comprises several key measures:
- the new building or the replacement of around 40 substances, including the associated follow -up lines (currently 92 substations are in operation)
- an annual increase of around 700 transformer stations (after average of around 250)
- Laying of around 1,000 km of new middle and low-voltage cables per year
These comprehensive measures are crucial. Because the renovation of the energy system is progressing quickly: In the area of photovoltaic systems alone, the NÖ Lower Austria reported over 14,000 prefabricated reports in the first half of the year. In the region, over 115,000 solar systems are now fueling electricity - this corresponds to about 25 percent of the total photovoltaic systems in Austria. Furthermore, there are more than 50 percent of the wind turbines in Lower Austria.
The modernization of the infrastructure in every speech is part of a more comprehensive plan to make the energy supply future -proof and sustainable and to react to the growing needs of the population. These developments are still monitored and accompanied to ensure the success and efficiency of the measures.
