dr. Mag. Alexander Lukeneder has been a scientist and curator of the Middle Ages collection at the Natural History Museum in Vienna since 2004. He is primarily known for his research on the Carnic crisis, one of the largest environmental disasters in the history of the earth, which caused mass extinction in the oceans of the Mesozoic 233 million years ago. This crisis can also be observed in the Lunz am See region in Lower Austria.
