Dr. Mag. Alexander Lukeneder has been working as a scientist and curator of the Mesozoic Collection at the Natural History Museum Vienna since 2004. He is best known for his research on the Carnic Crisis, one of the greatest environmental catastrophes in Earth's history, which caused mass extinction in the Mesozoic seas 233 million years ago. This crisis can also be observed in the Lunz am See region in Lower Austria.
