Austria's young talents shine at the ITF home tournament in Maria Lanzendorf

The ITF homeland tournament in Maria Lanzendorf has given the red-white-red young players extremely gratifying. Particularly noteworthy is the young protagonist Florian Zimmer, who secured the first victory of his career in singles, and the successful double team Jan Hemetzberger and Gabriel Niedermayr, who was able to register again in the winning lists.

After a weaker performance at the ITF-J100 tournament in the first week, the Austrian tennis youth team was able to cut off much better at the previous ITF-J30 event. The dominance of the Austrian players, who led to five purely purely Austrian finals in both singles and in doubles, was striking. In total, six ÖTV players positioned themselves in the top eight, which underlines the performance of domestic talents.

success in singles and doubles

Florian Zimmer, grandson of the well -known journalist Gerhard Zimmer, performed strongly. In the semifinals, he defeated the tenth Czechs Adam Duda 6: 1, 6: 2 and then won 3: 6, 7: 5, 6: 2 in the final against his compatriot Bastian Bastian Berenz. This success led rooms to make a huge leap in the youth world rankings, from 1332 in 1038th place. Berenz also celebrated a great success when he approved 323 places in position 1232.

In doubles, Hemetzberger and Niedermayr shone, who won their two internal duels with Berenz and Rooms as well as doleys and knights. The opponents in both matches had no chance, and the final game against Doleys and Knight ended 6: 4, 7: 6 (3), which Hemetzberger and Niedermayr secured the title. These services illustrate the very positive development of domestic tennis.

The girls of the Austrian teams also showed improvements: Johanna Andrea Corciova and Lea Haider-Maurer reached the quarter-finals in singles. Haider-Maurer competed in doubles with Valentina Hoschek, and the duo reached the final. There, however, they had to give up the two set players Emilia Milash from Russia and Flora Rablanska from Slovakia 5: 7, 1: 6.
