Community representative in exchange: Future of mobility in the industrial district
representatives of the municipalities from the districts of Baden, Bruck an der Leitha and Mödling have recently gathered in the town hall of Schwechat. The aim of the meeting was to discuss the mobility evening of Industrieviertel North, which focused on the exchange of information and the planning of future projects. The event emphasized the value of cooperation for mobility in the region.
At the beginning, the projects planned in 2024 were presented. These projects cover a wide range of mobility, such as mobility schools and walking time maps, and promote municipalities as interfaces for public transport. This approach shows how the region is actively pursuing mobility measures to act both sustainably and future -oriented.new ways of structuring
Another important point of the evening was the new structure of the NÖVOG, which was introduced this year. The managing director of the NÖVOG, Wolfgang Schroll, presented the changes that aim to continue to ensure the service for customers in the usual way. The new tasks include bus planning and needs that now fall into the responsibility of the Lower Austrian Transport Organization Society.
These organizational adjustments are crucial to meet the increasing demands on local transport. They should increase efficiency and offer users a better connection between different traffic functions.
innovations in mobility management
Mobility management pursues the goal of reacting flexibly to the needs of citizens and creating new possibilities of mobility. Innovative projects such as the traffic magic show and new funding programs for scooter parking systems were presented. These initiatives show that management always tries to rethink mobility and to offer sustainable solutions.
In addition, the participants had the opportunity to speak directly to mobility managers at themes and to bring their own project ideas. This interactive format makes it easier for communities to express their specific needs and wishes, and supports planning for 2025.
The importance of networking in this area cannot be assessed high enough. The exchange between community representatives and experts is essential to further promote mobility in the region and to develop sustainable solutions together. With the commitment of 81 of the 84 municipalities in the region, which are already classified as mobility communities, the great interest in an ongoing improvement in mobility offers is shown.
The event made it clear that mobility management should not be considered a fixed, unchangeable concept. Rather, it is a dynamic process that lives from active participation and input everyone involved. The mobility managers are available to the municipalities at all times and motivate them to work closer.
