Ten years of Leila: an association that beats bridges for children!

In the heart of Amstetten, the tenth anniversary of the Leila association is proudly celebrated, which is committed to supporting children with non -German mother tongue. At the anniversary celebration in the town hall hall, chairwoman Monika Dirnberger found that their vision, in which they enable children to access education and new friendships, has become a reality since it was founded in 2015. With great commitment of over 137 voluntary learning sponsors, the association now looks after 190 children and has provided more than 20,000 hours of learning, as the report from tips shows.

committed learning sponsors do valuable work

The learning sponsors of the association are not only available to the children as tutors, but also offer authentic encounters that go far beyond learning. Monika Distelberger emphasized that these special relationships enable the children to develop trust and confidence. In the current Situation, 27 learning sponsors are available to support their protégés, but the demand exceeds the offer: "We have long waiting lists because our program is spreading through word of mouth," explained Distelberger.

The importance of Leila is underpinned by numerous awards, including the integration price of the state of Lower Austria in 2019. In addition to the annual parents' evenings, which offer mothers important cultural experiences, the association continues to plan creative workshops and a summer party, such as noe.at emphasized. An important goal remains to build a bridge to the children in a promising future - a goal that is tirelessly pursued by this valuable work.
