Sternsinger in Amstetten: children bring blessings and hope into the new year

A new call for funding in the Amstetten region brings a breath of fresh air for the social initiatives that take care of children and young people. From December 27th to January 6th, the "Heilige three kings" are on the road in Amstetten to spread a Christmas peace message with their singing and collection campaign. The children and adolescents of the Salesian parish of Amstetten Herz Jesus are motivated and are committed to more than 500 aid projects in poverty regions of the world as part of the Epiphany campaign, as it is reported to Meinzirk.at. Since 1954, these little ambassadors have collected hope and support, for which they have collected an incredible 540 million euros in donations.

The main focus of this year's campaign is on child protection and the training of young people in Nepal. The Pope himself recognized the commitment of the children who act as lawyers of the poor and request financial support to relieve suffering in Africa, Asia and Latin America. On this occasion, local politicians, among them Mayor Christian Haberhauer and Vice Mayor Markus Brandstetter, also contributed to the “Amstettner Kinderglück” initiative. Proud 10,000 euros flowed into the coffers to support Amstettner children and adolescents, as Nön.at reports. These funds are used for Christmas presents and to promote leisure activities, which brings a positive turn into the living environment of the children.
