The view from the sun terrace is breathtaking and includes many of the impressive three -thousanders, including the Großglockner. The Merschenalm is particularly family -friendly and offers a quiet alpine life that appeals to both children and adults. Here guests can enjoy the fresh mountain air and untouched nature and at the same time do without overpriced tourist tours.
accessibility and hiking trails
The journey to the Merschenalm is different depending on the chosen hiking trail:
- from the Tratte car park (Virgen) via the Steinkas Valley: approx. 3.5 hours.
- About the Speikboden (Defereggen Valley): approx. 1 hour.
- From the Wetterkreuzhütte to the Zupalseehütte: approx. 2 hours.
- from the Mullitz parking lot via the Mullitztal to the Lasörlinghütte and on to Merschenalm: approx. 1.5 hours.
To make the climb easier, there is also the possibility to reserve a hiking taxi, especially for the shorter hike to the Zupalseehütte from Virgen.
