Lisa Eder missed the podium at the World Cup in Wisla – 5th place!

An exciting Women's Ski Jumping World Cup took place in Wisla, Poland on December 4, 2025, where Austria's Lisa Eder achieved a remarkable 5th place. Despite a strong first round, in which Eder was temporarily in third place, she was unable to maintain this in the final. Ultimately, she was 5.6 points short of the podium, which was conquered by the Norwegian Anna Odine Ström, the Canadian Abigail Strate and the Japanese Nozomi Maruyama. Eder was happy with her performance, but said that she had difficulties on the hill and hopes for improvements in the future. Julia Mühlbacher, the only other representative from Austria, came in 13th place, while Hannah Wiegele missed qualifying for the competition and Chiara Kreuzer did not travel to Poland due to a weak start to the season. Defending World Cup champion Nika Prevc was disqualified after her victory in qualifying due to illegal material.

Ström's victory in Wisla joins a series of successful competitions that she has already competed in this season. She recently led the competition at the home World Cup in Hinterzarten with a new hill record of 112.5 meters, which further fueled the excitement surrounding the Norwegian. In the final she maintained her lead with a jump of 103.5 meters and secured the day's victory. Ski jumping news also reports that the best German athletes in the competition in Hinterzarten fell short of expectations.
