Preparations for the anniversary year 2025 in Wolfsberg: Pilgrims of Hope

In the city parish of Wolfsberg, the preparations for the important anniversary year 2025 are already in full swing. In particular, the Markuskirche has recently presented itself in a new robe, which was designed by students from the Wolfsberg University of Applied Sciences in cooperation with its teacher Albert Pichler and the artist Heimo Luxbacher. The main entrance of the church now bears the logo of the Holy Year and the motto "pilgrim of hope".

The new logo, which symbolizes four stylized figures, is particularly remarkable. These figures represent humanity from the four directions and are hugging what solidarity and fraternity emphasizes between the peoples. One of the essential elements includes a cross that stands not only for faith, but also for hope that should never be given up in difficult times.

The logo is rich in importance. The waves that are represented stormily illustrate that life is shaped by challenges and is not always straightforward. The extended lower part of the cross, which looks like an anchor, also underlines the importance of community on the pilgrimage path - an important message that is expressed in the motto of the anniversary for 2025, "pilgrim of hope" (Peregrinante in Spem). These symbolic representations invite the believers to go on a journey that is experienced both individually and jointly.
