New training focus in Wolfsberg: toddler teacher and home aid
At the Agricultural Fach School (LFS) Buchhof in Wolfsberg there are exciting news. From the school year 2025/26 there is a new focus that focuses on the professions of the toddler teacher as well as on child minders and daily fathers. This option is open to the students from the second year of school, provided they have successfully completed the first school year.
The LFS Buchhof, which works in cooperation with Department 6 for elementary education and the Institute for Education and Consulting (IBB), will thus be an important location in sub -Carinthia. "We want to counteract the shortage of skilled workers primarily in rural areas," explains Barbara Hasenbichler, the department head of the LFS Buchhof. The training already includes many relevant topics that are anchored in the current curriculum and is taught by teachers from the technical school and by specialists in elementary pedagogy.
versatile training opportunities
With this new focus, the students have the opportunity to achieve three professional qualifications. This includes not only the skilled workers in company and household management as well as training as a home aid, but also the qualification as a toddler teacher. A structured offer of teaching covers essential points such as legal basics, child safety, health promotion and pedagogical concepts. In addition, 120 practical hours are planned to be completed in local kindergartens.
After completing the training, the students are not only well prepared, but can also work in kindergartens. You must pass a final exam and a project work with presentation in order to receive state recognition. This is an important step to improve childcare in the region, which is increasingly dependent on specialists.
On the information event on November 21 at 4 p.m. in the LFS Buchhof, all interested parties are invited to find out more about the new training focus. On this day, potential students and their parents can clarify all questions and learn more about the requirements and opportunities. If you have any questions or for additional information, the school is available on 04352/2417.
This initiative represents an important progress, since the training not only promotes the young youngsters, but also a contribution to ensuring specialists in the region. Details on this offer are also in a report at www.kleinezeitung.at to read.
