Carinthian Christina Strauss has taken on an important new position at IKEA and is now responsible for the company's PR department as Public Relations Leader. The 34-year-old looks back on a career in public relations and event management that has spanned more than ten years and has been part of the communications team at IKEA Austria since 2020. In her new role, she will oversee and be responsible for various key areas, including public relations, influencer relations and campaign management.

Born in Klagenfurt, Strauss studied journalism and communication science in Vienna and then gained experience at various agencies. Her professional career also took her into the world of sports, where she worked as a press officer and event manager at the Beach Majors Company, a Red Bull joint venture. Here she organized events for a world-famous beach volleyball tournament series. She was most recently active at IKEA as a Communication Business Partner, where she was primarily responsible for the topics of Diversity, Inclusion & Equity and led a number of communication campaigns, including the collaboration with Vienna Design Week.

Expanded responsibilities

In her new role as Public Relations Leader at IKEA, Christina Strauss will cover a wide range of tasks. "I want to further showcase IKEA's creativity in all of our communications activities, from powerful press relations to inspiring 'out of the box' campaigns," she said. This shows their clear focus on innovative approaches to brand communication.
