Nursing assistant in the Hermagor district of money laundering suspected
In the Hermagor district, a case of theft causes excitement. A 53-year-old domestic help from Bulgaria is suspected of having stolen an older lady and her brother in need of care. On October 31, 2024, the 84-year-old woman became a witness in her house, as the supposed nurse put coins and other valuables in her room directly in a pocket.
After the incident, the senior informed the police immediately and filed a complaint. A little later, the officials were able to secure the confiscated objects that were in the woman's pocket. This also wanted to travel to Bulgaria that day. The secured valuables included jewelry, gold and silver coins, but also clothing and food, the total value of which was several thousand euros.
Investigations and arrest
The police immediately initiated investigations and asked the 53-year-old arrested at the police inspection in Kötschach-Mauthen. However, the woman was not confessed with the allegations. As a result, the Federal Office for Foreign Affairs and Asylum (BFA) issued an arrest order. The accused was transferred to the police retention center in Villach, but this does not mean that it is guilty because the presumption of innocence applies.
The investigation continues and it remains to be seen whether further information or evidence comes to light.
