Success through teamwork: A look at the heart of the Best of Business event

On Wednesday, November 13, 2024, a unique event was held in the Casino Velden under the title "Best of Business". The day started with a captivating experience report by Prof. Dr. Kurt Matzler, who told about the famous "Race Across America". It is an extremely challenging bike race that travels a distance that is one and a half times as long as the "Tour de France" - in just half of the time! Matzler emphasized the immense importance of the team spirit and explained that such top performance is only possible together with a strong and reliable team.

common goals and motivation

A crucial motive for why athletes like Matzler take up such enormous efforts is the search for a higher goal. Matzler explained that the idea of struggling for the extermination of polio and collecting over a million euros for this purpose drove it through the hardships of the race. "It takes a higher goal to continue a why that is worth it," he added, adding what the audience stimulated to think.

neuroscientist Karsten Brocke took over the speech with the haunting motto "Do you want to be a pilot or passenger?" And illuminated the topic of how our brains in the modern world are influenced by technology. He emphasized that natural people need social interactions and that one should be given recognition to each other in order to shape a positive future.

Another interesting point from Brocke's lecture was the realization that we can learn from disappointments. Whenever our expectations are not met, this is an opportunity to grow and develop further. The conversation was about the central question of whether you act as a pilot of your life every day or as a passenger who takes everything passively.

The meaning of individuality and flexibility

After the lunch break, Univ. Prof. Dr. Markus Hengstschläger, President of the Austrian Society for Stem Cell Research, for the fact that the audience remained cheerful and attentive. With lively examples and a pictorial language, he illustrated how important individuality is in today's society and that we should look for new solutions away from the beaten path.

stallion slacks appealed to the participants, critical thinking and creativity in order to successfully meet the challenges of the present. In his opinion, these skills are essential to cope in an increasingly dynamic and abstract world.

The crowning end of the day was Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Jennewein, who, among other things, made it clear how important the radical acceptance of the actual situation is with examples from sport, including his mentor Hansi Flick. "Embrace this shit" (accepting the situation) was his urgent advice at the beginning of his lecture. Jennewein motivated his audience to keep the curiosity of children and use them as a key to solving problems.

The audience was invited to ask themselves the crucial question: "Wake up with a one day or with a day one?" This motivational disc showed how important it is to actively shape your own way and take the initiative.

The event was a valuable source of inspiration and important food for thought for the future for the audience. The next "Best of Business" events have already been scheduled, with the next event on May 27, 2025 in CCV Villach, featuring some prominent personalities such as Felix Gottwald, Maria Höfl-Riesch and Mark McGregor.
