Castle concert of the choir Koschat cradle inspires 300 guests in Viktring!

Stift Viktring, 9073 Klagenfurt, Österreich - On July 13, 2025, the castle concert of the mixed choir Koschate took place in the Abbey Viktring . This event was targeted at the end of school and was able to attract around 300 visitors. Under the direction of Apostolos Kallos, the choirs offered a varied program that included Carinthian songs, spirituals as well as spiritual and instrumental music. Anna Nikiforova and Anes Sakic on the piano took over the musical accompaniment, while Anna-Maria Unterrieder on the Oboe and Christoph Grabuschnig at the Marimba provided instrumental accompaniment.

The Viktring Abbey has a multifaceted story that goes back to the 10th century. Founded by Count Bernhard von Spanheim and his wife Kunigunde, it was launched in 1142 as a Cistercian abbey. The first monks came from Lorraine and brought significant agricultural skills, which quickly gained the monastery. Over the centuries, the Abbey experienced economic and cultural flower times before it was closed in 1788 under Emperor Joseph II. Today the site of the abbey is accessible to visitors and has developed into an important cultural institution of Carinthia.
