New SPAR supermarket in Poggersdorf: freshness and regionality in focus

On November 20, 2024, the opening of a new SPAR supermarket took place in Poggersdorf. With a sales area of around 800 square meters and a range of over 10,000 items, the market is intended to ensure high-quality local supplies. The new supermarket offers a variety of products, from fresh baked goods to fruit and vegetables to delicatessen, all of high quality. Particularly noteworthy is the wide selection of local specialties, which makes the shop attractive to both locals and visitors.

An important component of the supermarket is its commitment to regionality. The SPAR in Poggersdorf cooperates with numerous regional producers, including the Wernberger ham specialties from TANN and the high-quality spelled flour from the Müller-Kordesch organic farm in Globasnitz. Fresh bread from the Taumberger bakery in Klagenfurt and hard sausages from the traditional butcher shop Plautz are also available. This selection not only underlines the local offer, but also promotes the sustainable economy in the region.

Sustainability and social responsibility

The operator, SPAR Kärnten und Osttirol, also shows social responsibility: On the occasion of the new opening, a donation of 1,500 euros was made to the social fund of the market town of Poggersdorf, which is intended to benefit socially needy citizens. In addition, the new supermarket will create 22 new jobs, making a positive contribution to the local economy. The store is managed by Maria Golavcnik, who and her team are there for customers from Monday to Friday from 6:50 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and on Saturdays from 6:50 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

The reopening of the SPAR supermarket in Poggersdorf is not only an enrichment of the local offering, but also a sign of the region's ongoing development. While customers can expect a high-quality shopping experience, the connection to regional providers provides additional added value. This type of local supply helps to strengthen the local community and promote sustainable shopping options.
