Caution: Feschnigstraße will be closed for renovations from December 2nd!
From December 2, 2024, Feschnigstrasse in the area of the intersection with Suppanstrasse will be closed to all traffic due to necessary renovation work. The closure will begin at 6 a.m. and is expected to last until December 6, 2024. This measure was announced by Stadtwerke Klagenfurt in order to keep the road in an appropriate condition and to ensure the safety of drivers and pedestrians.
During this time, the route of the KMG buses will be adjusted. Line A is particularly affected here. It will take a diversion towards the city center via Waldrandgasse. On the way back towards Uteweg, take Suppanstraße and Feldkirchner Straße and then continue via Mantschehofgasse. In order to enable passengers to arrive stress-free, a replacement stop will be set up on Suppanstrasse at the level of Druckerweg. However, the Suppanstrasse stops in both directions and the Mantschehofgasse stop for buses traveling into the city will not be served during this time.
Diversions and alternative stops
These diversions require special attention from KMG passengers. To ensure travelers are informed, specific information about the changes will be communicated. The affected lines and stops are:
- Termin: Montag, 2. Dezember (ab 6 Uhr) bis voraussichtlich Freitag, 6. Dezember 2024
- Betroffene Linie: Linie A
- Betroffene KMG-Haltestellen: Suppanstraße (in beide Richtungen) und Mantschehofgasse (stadteinwärts)
The road work is necessary to improve the traffic infrastructure and repair possible damage at an early stage. There may be limited accessibility in the area these days, but the diversion routes are intended to keep the impact on local public transport within limits. Details of the situation are continually being updated and further information can be found at as reported on www.5min.at.
