Carinthia's hotel market under pressure: Why investors are looking for new ways!
The hotel industry is under pressure in Carinthia: Several hotels and restaurants are offered for sale, such as a hotel on Lake Ossiacher for a proud 2.3 million euros. The Jufa Hotel on the Hochrindl, on the other hand, remains closed because it does not find an operator. According to Wolfgang Kuttnig, Managing Director for Tourism in the Carinthia Chamber of Commerce, the main problem lies in operating succession and high investment congestion. Many existing companies are not yet debt -free, while the necessary investments in the aged buildings often have a deterrent. Investors tend to build new hotels on undeveloped areas, which should be done in Althofen. There, a Thai investor group is planning a new hotel project worth 10 million euros, while the hotel "Die Zeit" is empty near the vicinity in St. Veit/Glan, as ORF Kärnten reported.Purchase of the hotel brand Ruby by IHG
With this deal, IHG can strengthen its market strategic goals in the urban hotel area and at the same time accelerate Ruby's growth. Michael Struck, the founder of Ruby, confidently commented on the future cooperation and the possibility of significantly driving Ruby's international expansion goals through this partnership.
