Hermagor during the start: urban development and sustainable projects under Philipp Auer
Philipp Auer has been responsible for Hermagor's city and location marketing since April 1, 2019 and has initiated some important projects since then. As the central coordinator of urban development, Auer not only brings his experience from the region, but also works hand in hand with a steering group that is made up of political representatives, the LAG region Hermagor and various clubs. Together they develop strategies to further develop the city and to design more attractive for the locals and for tourists.
A main focus is on the "Leader project urban development", which aims to revitalize the city center and promote the settlement of new companies. Auer is particularly interested in presenting the Wulfeniastadt Hermagor optimized and creating a diverse range of events. "Citizens are supposed to linger in the city permanently and strengthen economic strength," explains Auer and emphasizes the importance of local vouchers, such as the popular Wulfenia voucher.
ecological initiatives
The commitment to sustainable urban development continues with the “ecological urban development” project, which in addition to ecological responsibility also takes into account the promotion of the quality of life in Hermagor. The approaches of this project include the adaptation of bike paths, the creation of recreation zones and playgrounds as well as the introduction of a "pleasure circle" - a culinary adventure path through the city. Auer emphasizes that it is important to optimize the outer perception of the city without neglecting the town center.
The project has a total budget of 300,000 euros. Financing takes place via a leader funding of 180,000 euros and own funds of 120,000 euros. Auer sees the cooperation with the market town of Kötschach-Mauthen as a crucial step to further drive the projects.
strategies against vacancies
A central concern of urban and location development is to reduce vacancies in the city. Auer has set up a database in which information about free space is collected. "My job is to offer support to the owners in renting their vacancies," he explains. The focus is not only on short -term tenancy, but also that new operators remain in Hermagor in the long term.
With these initiatives, Auer impressively shows how important it is to promote livable and sustainable urban development that meets both the needs of the locals and the requirements of the younger generation. More details on these developments can be found in a detailed report www.meinbezirk.at .
