New respiratory protection course: 23 firefighters ready for use!
In the Urfahr-Umgeben region, a remarkable training course for respiratory protection sponsors of the fire brigade occurred in January and February 2025. In this context, 23 new breathing sponsors were trained, as reported by fireworld.at . The theoretical training courses took place in Mühldorf, while the practical training was carried out on the following weekends in Feldkirchen on the Danube. Numerous essential aspects such as equipment science, handling the respiratory protection and operating hygiene were taught and practiced, supplemented by a sporty unit for the participants. A particularly realistic part of the training was a fire fighting simulation in the respiratory protection route of the Feldkirchen fire brigade, in which the participants had to act under smoky conditions.

In addition to the training, an extensive compulsory area exercise took place in Feldkirchen/Dona, which simulated a forest fire. As ooelfv.at reported, the fire broke out in two places in Aichberg. The fire brigades from Landshaag and the surrounding area immediately use all available resources, including forest fire backpacks and a large folding tank. The coordinated extinguishing work was supported by numerous emergency services, a total of around 130 firefighters were involved.The exercise also included additional scenarios, such as saving a paraglidue that was fixed in the trees, and eliminating a fallen tree on the way. The drone of the EFU unit Zwettl/Rodl provided valuable aerial photographs for the position evaluation. District Fire Brigade Commander Johannes Enzenhofer and other leaders were present during the exercise and paid tribute to the commitment of all participants in these essential training measures to ensure the operational readiness of the fire brigade.
