Feldkirchen celebrates carnival: Princess Emmelie I and Prince Schalkus XV. take over!
On November 17, 2025, the foolish time was ceremoniously opened in Feldkirchen. The new children's prince couple presented themselves at the traditional carnival wake on the main square: Princess Emmelie I and Prince Schalkus XV, both from the Feldkirchen elementary school. This event took place as part of the weekly market and attracted numerous visitors. With this spectacle the bell rang Feldkirchen carnival club its anniversary year, which has the motto “50 years of the Feldkirchner Carnival Club”.
Carnival President Peter Kowal took over the city key from Mayor Martin Treffner, while numerous members of city politics and the state parliament were present, including deputy mayor Siegfried Huber and state parliament member Herwig Seiser. In addition, the Waidern Volunteer Fire Department was honored with financial support for special tools, which underlined the community spirit of the event. Afterwards, the members of the carnival club marched through the city center to draw attention to the upcoming anniversary meetings.
Planned events
The 2026 carnival season promises a colorful program. A total of five carnival sessions, a children's masked ball and a large carnival parade are planned. The festivities begin on Friday, January 30, 2026, and end with the anniversary carnival parade on Shrove Tuesday, February 17, 2026.

The anniversary children's masked ball will take place on Sunday, February 15, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. in the Feldkirchner Stadtssaal.
