In the Stadtgalerie Klagenfurt, the space is shaped by the impressive geometric sculptures of the artists involved. Kamila Szij from Hungary, who made detailed drawings for months, has the viewer immersed in her quiet world, while Gisela Rarkosi captivates the audience with a colorful, twelve meter long installation. Her daughter emphasizes how important this appearance in Klagenfurt is for Rarkosi to strengthen her artistic presence. Helga Phillip, a pioneer of concrete art, whose playful work "Domino" can be ordered again and again, is part of this extraordinary exhibition. These works can be seen in the gallery until June 1st.
Esther Stocker, born in Silandro in 1974, has established itself as one of the most formative artists in her generation. Her studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna and later international institutions are reflected in their art, ranging from wall painting to large sculptures. The artist shows how simple geometric shapes can create both order and chaos. "I am interested in the transformation and how simple signs create confusion," explains Stocker, who with her work explores the boundaries between the expected and surprising, as the Scheffel gallery reports. The viewers invite their work to think about social structures and personal perceptions and open up a space for new thoughts and imaginations.
