EVN: significant decline in the group result - what does that mean for the future?

Niederösterreich, Österreich - The EVN has published its annual balance sheet for the 2022/23 financial year and shows a significant decline in the group result to EUR 471.7 million compared to 529.7 million euros in the previous year. The main reason for this is the significant drop in price on the energy markets, especially in electricity and gas sales, which again records a minus of around 160 million euros. These developments are all the more remarkable, since about two thirds of the result come from investments in Austria and other countries, such as the News report.

investments and future perspectives

Despite the decline, the EVN plans to make record investments of around 700 million euros annually in the coming years. This describes the EVN as part of its 2030 strategy, which also provides for a high proportion of ecologically sustainable investments in accordance with the EU Faxonomics Ordinance-over 87 % of the investments are therefore sustainable. In addition, the dividend is proposed at 0.52 euros per share, plus a special dividend of 0.62 euros, for the shareholders, according to EVN .

In order to meet the challenges of the market -oriented environment, EVN also relies on the expansion of renewable energies, the proportion of which has increased to 77.0 % in electricity generation. These measures are part of a comprehensive climate minitiative that drives the EVN a lot with the aim of making their contribution to reducing greenhouse gas emissions and designing a CO2-free energy future.
