Trends and consumer interest
Interest in street food is growing not only in Austria, but worldwide. More and more consumers are integrating street food into their everyday lives and looking for culinary experiences. Loud Innovamarket Insights One in four consumers consumed street food last year. The success of street food can be attributed primarily to the good price-performance ratio and the positive experiences.
One notable trend is the desire for healthier menu options; almost half of consumers prefer balanced dishes. In times of rising living costs, street food is particularly attractive as it often offers affordable options. Restaurants and food trucks are increasingly relying on seasonal and healthy ingredients to meet consumer needs.
This shows that street food is not just a trend, but a lasting enrichment for the gastronomic landscape that can promote both innovation and diversity. The European Street Food Festival 2025 will write another chapter in this exciting development.
