Drama on the A7: Burning silo trolley triggers large -scale use!

On Friday, June 27, 2025, the fire brigade was alerted around 7:32 p.m. due to several emergency calls via a burning vehicle on the federal highway 7. The cooperative regional control center West in Elmshorn gave the operational keyword "Feu G" (fire larger than standard), which was later increased to "Feu 2" (fire, two fire trucks). The place of use was between Bad Bramstedt and Grossenaspe, in the direction of travel north, where a truck with wood pellets had caught fire. The first emergency services found that only the rear of the truck burned, while the fire spread over the right side by loosely loading in the silo trailer.

The fire brigade used two troops to combat the fire under heavy breathing protection with two hand-led C-jet pipes. Appropriate measures were taken to prevent the fire from spreading to the adjacent vegetation. In this demanding use, up to four teams were used under respiratory protection at the same time, since the high fire load due to the loose wood pellets was a special challenge. The fire brigade received support from the Großenaspe volunteer fire brigade, which was on site with a fire truck and respiratory protective device wearer.

cooperative measures for fire fighting

An essential part of the extinguishing work was the collaboration with a towing company that enabled the truck to unload the truck. The glowing load was encouraged and extinguished in sections from the silo. The post -extinguishing work was taken over by the Bad Bramstedt volunteer fire brigade. A total of around 50 emergency services were involved in this fire fighting.

The extinguishing work dragged on until around 11:00 p.m., while the A7 prevailed. Fortunately, there were no injuries in this incident. There are currently no more detailed information on the cause of the damage, the amount of damage and the personal details of the data subjects.

similar incidents and the importance of fire protection statistics

The fire of a truck is not an isolated case. For example, [Osthessen-News] (https://osthessen-news.de/n11777335/flammen-a--a7-feuerwehr-kampf- against-brennende-zugmaschen.html) already reported on June 5, 2025 from a similar incident on the A7, where the cab of a truck was fully burned. There the fire department Bad Hersfeld was alerted to a truck fire, with about 20 firefighters being on site to get the fire under control.

In this context, the current statistics of the Center Techniques de l’encendie et de la sécurité), which have been providing fire statistical reports annually since 1995, are of great importance. According to the [CTIF] (https://ctif.org/de/news/das-ctif- Feuerwehrstatistik-magazin-NR-28-ITS-SARES) Report No. 28 are also carried out by comprehensive analysis of the fire causes in 66 countries. Such statistics are crucial in order to better assess future fire risks in urban centers and on streets and thus to be able to take suitable prevention measures. The current project "100 Cities - 100 Years" is also dedicated to the evaluation of urban fire risks and is offered in several languages on the CTIF website.
