Surf-Opening: lido in Neusiedl am See becomes a beach & surf!
The surf opening on Lake Neusiedler, organized by Gerhard Polak, causes excitement again. In the past few weeks it was known that the event will take place at 35 locations throughout Austria this year, but never once at Lake Neusiedler. Despite this news, the event in Burgenland does not fall by the wayside. As Kurt Kaiser, marketing manager at Burgenland Tourism, confirmed, a new concept is planned for this year under the title "Beach & Surf Fest". The entire event center is moved directly to the idyllic promenade in order to ensure even more closer contact to the beautiful lake landscape, including the plans of Daniel Hupfer, the new organizer.
action and fun at the Neusiedler See
From April 30 to May 5, 2024, the Surf Opening will offer an action -packed program, including the Austrian State Championships in Windsurf and Wingfoilen. The sports event is rounded off by a colorful festival with music and parties that will appeal to both sports and music lovers. Burgenland tourism expects up to 50,000 visitors who herald the summer on Lake Neusiedler.
The See Opening goes into the third round and is a real institution to open the tourism season. From April 26 to May 5, 2024, various events of all kinds are offered in the region. The highlights are the Woodstock Weinroas in Illmitz and a family festival in Neusiedl with live concerts and activities for children. Governor Hans Peter Doskozil emphasizes the positive development of tourism, underpinned by records. "The See Opening is one of many measures to remain true to the successful course," said Doskozil. The full range of activities promises to make the unique beauty of the Burgenland lake landscape tangible, and will attract both locals and tourists, says Burgenland Tourism Manager Didi Tunkel, who emphasizes the diversity of the region.
