New Presidium of the DRK: Strongly set up for Hanover together
Last weekend, the members of the German Red Cross (DRK) gathered in the Hanover region for their 19th general meeting. The deputy regional president Michaela Michalowitz opened the event with an encouraging greeting in which she praised the close cooperation between the Hanover region and the DRK. "With us, the focus is on helping people," she emphasized. Thomas Hermann, another speaker, underlined the important role of the DRK for the state capital of Hanover and emphasized the many years of trusting cooperation. "The DRK is a active and lively partner for our city," says Hermann.
A central point of the agenda was the choice of the new Presidium. Martina Rust was confirmed as President and will lead the Red Cross in the Hanover region for another four years. Rust was optimistic: "There are also big tasks ahead of the future. But I am confident that we can manage them together." She thanked the Rotkreuzler for her commitment and support.

The new offices in the Presidium, which Denise Kühl and Gabriele Jakob take over as assessors, are particularly noteworthy.
The general assembly not only showed the institutionalized structures of the DRK, but also reminded of the importance of cohesion and humanity, especially in times of crises and disasters. "The DRK once again shows its extensive importance in Lower Saxony and beyond," concluded Hans Hartmann, who also spoke a greeting.
