Almost 30,000 euros for a good cause: Pink Ribbon events in Oberwart

At a successful event in the Dieselkino Oberwart and the eo shopping center, a considerable amount was raised for a good cause. In total, an astonishing 29,068.12 euros were raised for Cancer Aid Burgenland as part of the Pink Ribbon cinema evening and the following day of action.

On October 9, 2023, people were invited to the Pink Ribbon cinema evening for the 13th time, organized by the committed Pink Ribbon ambassador Elisabeth Schranz and the Soroptimistclub Südburgenland Stegersbach. Around 600 guests enjoyed an evening of entertainment with a champagne reception, kindly sponsored by Weingut Scheiblhofer, and three high-quality films, including “It's the Little Things,” the musical drama “Gloria!” and “The Equation of Life.” The proceeds from the cinema evening go directly to Krebshilfe Burgenland, thanks to the generous sponsors.

Action day with a lot of program

The action day took place on October 12th in the eo shopping center and featured a variety of activities. Particularly noteworthy was the popular charity raffle, in which over 70 shops as well as regional companies and traders of fruit and vegetables took part with donations in kind and vouchers. This strong community effort highlights the great commitment needed to deliver these events.

Elisabeth Schranz was active throughout the year by selling products to generate additional donations. Cancer Aid Burgenland chairwoman Michaela Klein expressed her delight at the enormous success: “Thanks to the great commitment and excellent cooperation of everyone involved, especially Elisabeth Schranz and our many supporters, we were able to hand over this impressive amount to the cancer aid.”

Thanks to all supporters

Cancer Aid managing director Andrea Konrath sent a heartfelt thank you to all donors: "The donations collected will benefit Burgenland breast cancer patients and their families. They will be used for psycho-oncological support and emergency financial aid."
