A trip to happiness: SOS Children's Village experiences the sea for the first time

The cold season is just around the corner and it is a good opportunity to remember the beautiful experiences of summer vacation. Her vacation-rich stay by the sea was particularly unforgettable for the children from the SOS Children's Village Pinkafeld. This experience is a highlight for the children and their supervisor, Trixi, which they will carry in their hearts for a long time.

Trixi, who soon retired, had long had the desire to spend a vacation together with her protégés. "We laughed together for many years, cried and shared nice experiences. Now we absolutely wanted to travel together again-preferably to the sea," says the happy SOS Children's village mother.

family and cohesion

Thanks to the unselfish support from the "Little Inn - Cafe and Bar" in Oberwart, Trixi and her protégés were able to experience this special adventure. A fundraising campaign in the café collected a travel voucher worth 1020 euros. Margarita and Rainer obojkovits, the couple behind the "Little Inn", made a great contribution to realizing this project.

"The noise, the glitter, that laughs, you don't forget something like that," says Trixi.

With the sum collected, the SOS Children's Dorff family was able to spend a few unforgettable days in Grado, Italy. For the children who are at the age of 17, 15 and 13, it was the first time that they saw the sea. "The shining in her eyes was priceless," enthuses Trixi.

The family spent their time with long beach walks, cycling along the coast and an exciting day trip to Venice. "We ran eight kilometers and had a dinner together with the delicious Italian cuisine every evening," the children say enthusiastically.

unforgettable memories

"The rustling of the waves and the laughter of the children are always remembered," adds Trixi. While the cold days are getting closer, she can look back on a wonderful time full of happy moments. The children not only experienced a nice vacation, but also collected unforgettable memories that will last for a lifetime.

The work of SOS Children's Village, which aims to offer children in Austria a loving home is noteworthy. The organization has been creating strong and trusting relationships for children who are in need for 75 years. Support offers are divided into preventive and advisory measures to help families in difficult situations.
