Greens rely on fresh faces: new candidates for the state election

In Bad Tatzmannsdorf, the Greens have taken important steps for the upcoming state election. This election is scheduled for October 12, 2024, and the party has set its top candidate and the first six list positions. Anja Haider-Wallner, the state spokeswoman, was appointed top candidate at the beginning of the year.

Anja Haider-Wallner has held her role as a club boss since June after she has taken on Regina Petrik's mandate. In second place on the list is Wolfgang Spitzmüller from Oberschützen, who can look back on a ten -year experience as a member of parliament.

Who are the other candidates?

At the last meeting, places three to six were also elected. Margit Paul-Kientzl, the district spokeswoman from Neusiedl am See, secured third place with an impressive approval of 81 percent. In fourth place, Philip Juranich, the deputy of the state spokeswoman, who appeared as a top candidate in the recent National Council election and received 91 percent approval. Fifth place goes to Karin Parapatits, the environmental councilor in Weppersdorf, with a strong support of 97 percent. The first six places ended with Nikolas Brunäcker, the district spokesman for Eisenstadt-Umgebung, who also received 91 percent.

The state spokeswoman Haider-Wallner emphasized the goal of the Greens during the 58th state assembly to work for nature conservation, climate protection and human protection. When planning financial planning for the election campaign, the state manager Marita Demattio made it clear that the party remains far below the upper limit of 300,000 euros for campaign costs.

In the state election in Burgenland in January 2020, the Greens achieved 6.72 percent of the votes and were able to win two mandates, causing them to secure the club status. These developments are signs of a candidacy that should irritate the party's growing demands in the upcoming election campaign.
