Life value Südburgenland: Photographer Klaus Mähring shows portraits in strem
Strem. The photographer Klaus Mähring brings a fascinating exhibition on its feet, which can be seen in his “decentralized” gallery from October 25th. Under the title "Life Worth", he presents impressive portraits of people from the southern Burgenland who share their view of a fulfilling life. The vernissage takes place at 5 p.m. and the exhibition will be open every Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.
In his extensive project, Mähring covered more than 2,000 kilometers in South Burgenland. He not only took photos, but also talked to people about their life views. These valuable conversations flow into the portraits, all of which were recorded in an analog style. This approach was a big challenge for Mähring. "I worked with a film that has not been produced for 17 years. So I had to plan every recording conscientiously," he explains.
artistic challenge and inspiration
The technology that Mähring used went beyond mere photoving. He deliberately chose a special lighting to bring out the emotions and personalities of his models particularly impressively. "When I think of important photographers who inspired me, like Edward S. Curtis or Richard Avedon, also influenced their work," he adds, "he adds and emphasizes the importance of careful design of each individual recording.
Mähring describes how important it was to get in touch with the portrayed. "My work process was careful and required a lot of patience. I often drove through the area by car and took care of which people 'beam'. The results are not only visual impressions, but also a collection of statements about what makes life worth living for everyone.
email and personal contacts complemented the route that Mähring led to his project. With a polaroid he recorded the names and contact details of his photo models in order to stay in touch with them later. This connection was essential for Mähring to gain deeper insights into the ways of life and philosophies that he portrayed.
The "Depentry" gallery is located in Strem, Hauptstraße 34, and offers a platform for art lovers and interested parties who want to learn more about life in this region. Mähring's exhibition is not only a visual experience, but also an invitation to think about your own ideas about life.
Apart from this exhibition, there are other interesting projects in the area, such as the "picture makers" presentation in the district administration Jennersdorf and the exhibition by Ernst Breitegger in the Gerersdorf open-air museum. The anniversary exhibition at Güssing Castle will also attract many visitors.
