Nikolaus brings hope: Fair lifestyle for Tanzania and Ethiopia!
Eisenstadt, Österreich - On December 6, 2024, Santa Claus visited not only for the children, but also for the Eisenstadt bishop Aegidius Zsifkovics. According to the diocese of Eisenstadt, St. Nicholas Fair produced chocolate and information about the "Aktion Fairer Nikolaus". This initiative supports the Catholic men's movement, which is currently helping women and young people in Tanzania and Ethiopia to improve their life situations. There are hardly any training opportunities for many young people in Tanzania, but the Machui Community College opens up new perspectives. In Ethiopia, the most needy support from chicken breeding, goat husbandry and agricultural training is given.
Zsifkovics also celebrated a Rorate service in Martinsdom on Friday morning, where over 200 children took part. The bishop explained the importance of St. Nicholas and his role model function. He encouraged the children to act like Nikolaus by helping each other to make the Christian values visible through their actions. The festival followed a breakfast for children and parents in the cathedral parish.
