Neos Burgenland: Candidate election and collection of signatures started
The political landscape in Burgenland is becoming more exciting again, because the Neos party is preparing for the coming state elections in January. On Friday afternoon there will be a decisive general meeting in Eisenstadt, in which the candidates are elected for the election. Preparations are currently in full swing, the team is working on collecting enough support explanations to be able to officially compete.
Neos takes the third attempt to gain a foothold in the Burgenland state parliament after they failed in 2015 and 2020. In order to be able to participate in the election, you must overcome the four percent hurdle. A total of 15 candidates are presented at the assembled membership in Eisenstadt, and the election program is decided what is of great importance for the party.

A central point of the meeting will be the nomination of the top candidate. NEOS state spokesman Christoph Schneider threw his hat in the ring and seems to be the only candidate for this post. The party is optimistic that it can build on the successes of the past European elections and the National Council election. In these elections, NEOS achieved better results than the Greens currently represented in the state parliament.

Before you can start your official election campaign, Neos is still looking for signatures to support your inauguration. A total of 180 signatures are required for registration in Burgenland. The party is currently reporting that it has already collected three quarters of these signatures. Particular attention is now paid to the districts of Oberpullendorf, Güssing and Jennersdorf, where signatures are still missing. The deadline for submitting the declarations of support ends on December 13th, which underlines the urgency of the situation.
