closure in Klingenbach: commuter traffic should be relieved

In the region around Klingenbach in the Eisenstadt area, there has recently been a drastic change in road traffic. A street that was used as an abbreviation by numerous commuters from Hungary to bypass an existing bypass is now closed. This was necessary because traffic in the area has increased exponentially in recent years, which led to considerable traffic jams.

The mayor of Klingenbach, Richard Frank (SPÖ), commented on the situation and explained that the traffic counts showed a clear trend: Around 90 percent of drivers who drove through the community had the same goal as the commuters who took the official bypass. This caused problems regularly, especially during the morning rush hour, when the vehicles at traffic jams in front of the roundabout.

The reasons for the lock

The municipality has caused the overload of the streets to take measures. To date, the blocked piece of road has often been used as a convenient abbreviation, which led to a high traffic density in the small community. The decision to block was finally formalized after a corresponding application was made to the district administration of Eisenstadt area and it has now been implemented. Frank suspects that the lock will be long -lasting, especially with regard to the fact that the recent opening of a highway on the Hungarian side can be expected again with an increase in commuter traffic.

These new regulations are an attempt to normalize the flow of traffic in Klingenbach again and to improve the quality of life of the residents. In the future, the decision could serve as a model for other communities that have similar problems with excessive through traffic. How traffic will change remains to be seen, especially whether the drivers find alternative routes or adapt to the changes in the path.
