Governor Hans Peter Doskozil (SPÖ) emphasizes teamwork in Burgenland Tourism, which led to these outstanding results. This year, an increase from 6.7 % was found from January to October to a total of 2,812,711 overnight stays. This shows a clear positive development in Burgenland, which is due to the strategic marketing measures, according to Burgenland Tourism Manager Didi Tunkel.

Development in October

In October 2023, 87,545 guests came to Burgenland, which corresponds to an increase of 2.2 % compared to the previous year. Nevertheless, there was a decline in the overnight stays by 1.2 %, which is due to the trend towards short vacation. Domestic guests tend to spend shorter vacation times, while overnight stays from abroad rose by 2.7 %. Special increases were recorded from the markets of Germany (+3.7 %) and Hungary (+25.0 %). Despite the decline in October, the number of overnight stays is above the level of 2019, the year before pandemic, which is a positive trend for the region, so Burgenland.info .
