CSU demands more transparency and service in the Bad Neustädter parking!

The CSU parliamentary group Bad Neustadt has applied for a discussion about transparency and service orientation in parking management in the city council. This application was submitted to Mayor Michael Werner in early January 2025. As early as July 2024, the CSU had made an application that led to free parking in the city center. Customers are currently enjoying 30 minutes of free parking in front of the Marien pharmacy.

The new application results from numerous complaints about the traffic surveillance service (VÜD), which have been received by the CSU city councils. The CSU parliamentary group spokesman Bastian Steinbach emphasized that this project is not about criticism of the Vüd, but about constructive solutions. The aim is to obtain the expertise of the regulatory office and not to hold discussions on social media.

claims of the CSU

The application emphasizes the need to comply with legal requirements and at the same time to promote the welcome culture in the city center. The CSU wants to achieve a balance between orderly traffic conditions and the attractiveness of the city center. In addition, problems in the districts, such as in Herschfeld, should be addressed.

The application requires an explanation of the current state of parking management and the Vüd in a meeting in January. Special focus should be on dealing with short -term parking and the transparency of the regulations. In order to ensure service -oriented enforcement of the requirements, the CSU calls for training measures for the VÜD and the development of guidelines to improve transparency and intelligibility of the parking regulations.

In addition, suggestions for creating better parking for short -term parkers and communication between administration, traders and citizens should be strengthened. A planned testing of Hohnstrasse should also be included in the considerations.

The amendment to the Park Fee Ordinance in Bad Neustadt comes into force on November 1, 2024. From this date, free parking in the city center (within the city wall) and in the “Am Zollberg” parking lot is possible for 30 minutes with a parking disc. It is prohibited to extend the maximum parking time of 30 minutes by further turning the parking disc. Park ticket machines in this area are switched off and the signage is adjusted accordingly.

The regulation also applies to Rathausplatz, while the first two hours are free of charge in surrounding parking spaces. After the first two hours, a fee of € 0.50 per additional hour is charged. Day tickets cost € 3.00 and monthly tickets € 15.00. The parking ticket is also required for the free two hours; A ticket must be solved at the machine, which has its own button for this time. Users without a valid parking ticket have to expect a warning.

In the Festplatz Süd, five hours with a parking disc apply, while the previous park modalities are retained on the campus.
