Fasting 2025: A creative journey to inner peace and connection in Bamberg!

Lent brings exciting activities and creative projects to the communities! In a unique initiative, students made an impressive fasting cloth on the inside, which not only reflects traditional religious practices, but also takes modern approaches such as plastic and climate loads into account. The fasting towel, made of bamboo and colored paper, stands for diversity and connection and will be exhibited in the Markus Church until Easter. In addition, the presentation for new evangelization offers online fasting experts for the first time this year. From Ash Wednesday, interested parties can take part in the "10 days of fasting" campaign, where they can either only eat liquid food or fast in a different way. Accompanied by spiritual impulses provided by various experts, the participants can consciously design their fasting path. The topic of this year's retreat is: "As a pilgrim of hope for the traces of the beatitudes". Participants report an increased spirituality and in -depth appreciation for food and a more conscious lifestyle.
