Fasting 2025: A creative journey to inner peace and connection in Bamberg!
Lent brings exciting activities and creative projects to communities! In a unique initiative, students designed an impressive fasting cloth that not only reflects traditional religious practices, but also takes modern approaches such as plastic and climate fasting into account. The Lenten cloth, made from bamboo and dyed paper, represents diversity and solidarity and will be on display in St. Mark's Church until Easter. Project leaders Anna Baumgartner and Heidi Linzer would like to thank the numerous supporters, including the students themselves and city priest Christoph Kranicki, for their valuable help klick-kaernten.at reported.
In addition, the Department for New Evangelization is offering online Lenten retreats for the first time this year. From Ash Wednesday, those interested can take part in the “10 Days of Fasting” campaign, where they can either eat only liquid food or fast in another way. Accompanied by spiritual impulses provided by various experts, participants can consciously shape their Lenten journey. The theme of this year's retreat is: “As a pilgrim of hope in the footsteps of the Beatitudes”. Participants report increased spirituality and a deeper appreciation for food, as well as a more conscious lifestyle. The meetings for the exchange will take place both in small groups on site and in online groups, such as bistum-passau.de highlights.
