Vienna helps! Big fundraiser with Wanda for people in need!

Under the motto “Donate Amore – and a little bit of money”, the cult band Wanda and the Samaritan Association Vienna invite you to a special concert on December 21, 2024 in the Wiener Stadthalle. This event will not only be a musical delight, but also an important contribution to people in need. The donations collected during the concert will benefit the “Samariter Kisterl” project, which provides essential food and hygiene products to families and individuals in need. This reported OTS.at.

As part of the festive season and the solidarity it symbolizes, Wanda and her fans want to send a strong signal together with the Samaritan Association. Before and after the concert, visitors have the opportunity to donate directly in the Wiener Stadthalle. Oliver Löhlein, Managing Director of the Samaritan Association of Vienna, emphasizes the urgent need to support people in poverty and points to the importance of community action. Even small donations can make a big difference: 30 euros can fill a “box” for a person in need.

Winter package provides emergency shelter

At the same time, the Samaritan Association of Vienna looks after the homeless in the city. As part of the 15th winter package, an emergency shelter was set up in the Winkeläckerweg house, which offers space for 93 homeless people. There are also 30 additional women's places available in a special area. The facility is looked after and provides the residents with hot meals, hygiene products and shower facilities every day. “We guarantee that people are protected from cold and hunger,” says Löhlein about the new infrastructure that is available in winter. This was done by samariterbund.net reported.

There are also more than 1,000 additional overnight accommodations available in emergency shelters for homeless people across Vienna. The winter package, which runs until the end of April, not only offers accommodation, but also support from experienced professionals in 24/7 care. Through these measures, Vienna is sending an important signal for social responsibility and a sense of community in the cold season.
