Musical workshop inspires 100 students in Vienna!

The United Theaters Vienna and Wiener Städtische Versicherung have been actively committed to cultural mediation and the promotion of young people for years. For the twelfth time, a special project was launched in which 100 students from all over Austria were able to visit the successful production “ROCK ME AMADEUS – THE FALCO MUSICAL” in the Ronacher. This initiative is intended, in particular, to stimulate young people's interest in art and culture and to facilitate access to musical theater, which the companies see as one of their main objectives.

A special highlight of the event was a musical workshop in which 40 students took part. Under the direction of a cultural mediator from the VBW musical division, the young people were able to try out theater pedagogical games and improvisation exercises and even work on choreography for a musical number. As emphasized in the press release from ots.at, the participants also received visits from musical stars from the latter Production, which the experience offered further highlights for the young talents.

The importance of cultural education

In his remarks, Christian Struppeck, musical director of the Vereinigte Bühnen Wien, emphasized the immense importance of promoting young talent, which is created through such projects. Wiener Städtische Versicherung supports these efforts by emphasizing the importance of access to art and culture for children and young people. This is in line with the approach of the Arts and Games program, which has existed since 2013 and aims to enable young children to participate in cultural offerings. According to the Bosch Foundation, early aesthetic experience strengthens children's personal development and promotes their social participation.

The cultural mediation of the Vereinigte Bühnen Wien is also active, among other things, at the Children's Business Week 2024, where workshops with the title “Musical and Opera: Right in the Middle of Musical Theater” are offered. These workshops are designed for children aged 8 to 14 and will take place between July 22nd and 26th, 2024 at the WKO Campus Vienna. The topics offered shed light on the creation of an opera, the background to a musical performance and careers in the theater. According to information from wienholding.at, this gives children the opportunity to actively engage with the world of theater.

Further offers

In total, the Children's Business Week 2024 offers 60 free workshops that cover a variety of topics relating to the Austrian economy. The workshops, which are aimed at both younger and older children, are intended to help participants develop a better understanding of art and culture and to value these experiences in the long term.

With projects like these, the Vereinigte Bühnen Wien and Wiener Städtische Versicherung show that they are not only committed to first-class entertainment, but also want to have a deep and long-term influence on the social and cultural development of children and young people. This makes it clear that access to art and culture plays an essential role in the development of young people and can be promoted through such initiatives.
