According to a recent TUI study, traveling during the low season is becoming increasingly popular. Almost 40 percent of respondents prefer to travel during less busy periods, meaning this type of vacation offers many advantages, including lower prices and a more pleasant climate. As part of the TUI Low Season Island Index, 60 islands worldwide were assessed to identify the best destinations for such a holiday. The top three places are secured by Cyprus, Tenerife and Mallorca with impressive scores of 79, 76 and 75.
The best islands for relaxing holidays
Cyprus tops the list with a perfect mix of sun, beach and culture. The island scores with 1.8 million mentions on TikTok and an average of nine hours of sunshine per day from October to May. Cyprus also offers numerous outdoor activities that allow holidaymakers to experience the beauty of nature, while Tenerife impresses with the highest water temperature in the low season - up to 20.6 degrees Celsius. Mallorca, which is particularly popular with German travelers, attracts with 8.3 hours of sunshine per day and a large number of Blue Flag beaches.
The analysis also took into account other factors such as safety, number of Blue Flag beaches and climatic conditions. In this context, the most important thing is the comfort and joy of travelers, which is often lost in high season due to crowded beaches and hotspots.
