In the late afternoon there was a dramatic traffic accident on the B47 that caused a stir! Two cars collided head-on at the junction of the B47/B271 and we can only hope that the victim gets back on his feet quickly. An 83-year-old man from VG Grünstadt, who was driving his Mercedes Benz, wanted to turn left onto the B47 and overlooked the approaching 48-year-old driver of an Opel Corsa from VG Eich, who took the right of way for him. What a horror!
The collision and its consequences
The collision was violent and the consequences for the Opel driver were not without consequences! Although the senior citizen who was responsible for this accident got off lightly, his counterpart sustained minor injuries. The vehicles, a Mercedes and an Opel, suffered massive damage to the front area and are now a case for the workshop. The horrific crash led to the B47 being closed in both directions for around 1.5 hours, causing enormous inconvenience to other road users.
The police reacted immediately: criminal proceedings are now being initiated against the 83-year-old who caused the accident for negligently causing bodily harm. An incident like this makes your blood run cold and raises questions about road safety and mindfulness!
