A 69-year-old car driver wanted to drive out of a driveway when an e-scooter suddenly came onto the sidewalk from the right and collided head-on with her car. The e-scooter driver, a young man, first hit his upper body against the hood and then the windshield of the vehicle as he drove past.
What started as a simple traffic accident took an unexpected turn. After the car driver noticed the collision, she decided to call the police and took a look at the e-scooter driver. But instead of taking care of the situation or waiting for the police, the young man simply jumped on his e-scooter and ran away. This escape after the accident is the reason why the Neuwied police are now repeatedly looking for witnesses who could have further information about this incident.
