Linnich suffered a traffic accident at around 6:30 a.m. on Wednesday morning, October 9th, 2024, which attracted attention. A 20-year-old e-scooter driver was injured after driving at the intersection of Erkelenzer Straße and Jülicher Straße. The incident occurred immediately after crossing the Rur Bridge.
The e-scooter driver was on a bicycle and pedestrian path. At the time of the accident, the railway barriers on Jülicher Straße were lowered and the traffic lights were showing “red lights”. However, this did not prevent a driver of a white Tesla from driving past the red light and colliding with the e-scooter driver as he was about to cross Erkelenzer Strasse.

The collision caused the young man to fall onto his right side and his e-scooter was thrown across the road. The driver of the Tesla got out and asked about the well-being of the e-scooter driver, who assured him that he was fine and had to go to work. Despite the collision, the Tesla driver decided to continue driving towards Jülicher Straße.
However, after the accident, the e-scooter driver felt pain and went to a hospital where his injuries were treated. This incident raises questions about road safety and road responsibility, particularly regarding compliance with traffic rules and driver attentiveness.
The driver of the white Tesla we are looking for is described as follows: He is male, around 18 to 25 years old, slim and has a height between 178 cm and 182 cm. During the incident he was wearing a white T-shirt, white shoes and dark trousers.
